Visit to Minh Mang’s mausoleum, boat cruise, excursion to Thuy Bieu village, Thien Mu temple, and Hue citadel

8:00 A.m: Depart from the hotel for a visit to Emperor Minh Mang’s tomb, an architectural marvel that beautifully combines natural and imperial religious works. The tomb was conceived during Minh Mang’s reign (1820-40), but it was erected by Thieu Tri, his successor, with the help of ten thousand workers and artisans.

Continue by boat down Huong River (or Perfume River) to Thuy Bieu Village, admiring the scenic sceneries on both sides. After an hour, we arrive in Thuy Bieu, famous for its beautiful grapefruit trees, where you can ride a bike around the town under the shade of the grapefruit trees and enjoy the lovely perfume air and harvested straw. The tranquil vibe pervades the entire community. Then, pay a visit to a temple devoted to the village protector, which is a classic garden house established centuries ago. This is a fantastic opportunity to take photos and connect with the people working in the gardens and vegetable fields that should not be missed.

In the village, lunch is served. Drive to Thien Mu Pagoda in the afternoon, one of Hue’s oldest pagodas dating back to 1601. This is the spiritual center of the city, famed for its majestic octagon tower and stunning views of the Perfume River.

After that, return to the city center to see the most prominent sights, including the Hue Citadel, the only surviving symbol of what was once Vietnam’s imperial metropolis. It is inspired by Vauban’s fortifications. The city is divided into three sections: Kinh Thanh (Capital City), Hoang Thanh (Imperial City), and Cam Thanh (Forbidden City). The flag tower, the South gate, the palace of supreme Harmony, the Dynasty temple area, and the settlement area are among the most attractive sights in Hue.

In the late afternoon, return to your hotel. Free time in the evening to explore the city.

Travel to Hoi An via scenic Hai Van pass, Cham sculpture museum, Hoi An half-day city tour

7:30 AM: Travel via Mandarin Road and Sea Cloud Pass (Hai Van Pass) to be picked up from your accommodation in Hoi An. Take a break at the pass’s summit to take in the stunning views of Da Nang’s city and the water. When you get to Da Nang, make time to see the Cham Museum, which is home to the world’s most significant collections of Cham artifacts. After that, take a stroll along My Khe Beach to see the enormous Goodness of Mercy statues inside the Linh Ung Pagoda. After taking pictures of the fisherman near the shore, drive down the coast to the historic town of Hoi An.

Explore the town in the afternoon. From the 15th through the 19th centuries, Hoi An was one of the most characteristic South-East Asian commerce ports, and its Old Town is still intact. Numerous historical structures, daily activities, religion, and the genuine way of life of the locals all reflect the traded cultures.

The first place to visit is Cam Pho, which is among Hoi An’s oldest communal homes. Its construction in the form of a Chinese character designates it as a nation dedicated to worship, trade, and cross-cultural interaction between the local community and Chinese and Japanese traders.

Walk slowly on to the Chua Cau, also known as the Japanese Covered Bridge, which was constructed in the 17th century to connect the Chinese neighborhoods with the Japanese area. It is the icon of the city of Hoi An. The last four centuries have seen a meticulous preservation of the bridge’s original style.

Next, we visit Quan Thang Ancient House, which is among the most genuine old residences in Hoi An. Its exquisite architecture and vibrant, oriental-style sculptures were created by skilled craftsmen from the renowned Kim Bong Carpentry Village. A clear view of the Hoi An family’s daily life is provided by the house.

Our final destination for the day is Phuc Kien, also known as the Fujian Assembly Hall. Constructed in the 17th century, it serves as a meeting place for locals, tourists, and traders from the Fujian region of China. In addition, it is a place of worship for the goddess Thien Hau. Upon visiting, you will be in awe of the intricately carved dragons in the main chamber, the colorful fountains in the courtyard, and the elaborate gates encircling the estate.

Return to the hotel after exploring the city on your own.

Explore Kim Bong and Tra Nhieu by bike, boat to Cam Thanh village for local interactions.

The tour guide picks you up at your hotel. Begin cycling to Hoi An pier and embark on the ferry crossing the Thu Bon river to Kim Bong village. On the boat, you will immerse yourselves into the comfortable fresh air and enjoy the idyllic landscapes on both sides of the river.

Start your adventure at your hotel as we embark on a journey filled with cycling, boat rides, and extraordinary cultural encounters.

Our journey begins with a bike ride to Hoi An pier, where we’ll step onto a ferry that gracefully crosses the Thu Bon river, surrounding ourselves with the invigorating, clean air and captivating landscapes on both sides.

As we reach Kim Bong village, we enter a realm renowned for its masterful wood carving traditions. Initially, artisans inherited their skills from the Northern Vietnamese, but through subsequent exchanges and trade, they absorbed the wisdom of Chinese and Japanese sculptors, ultimately cultivating a unique, signature style. Our exploration includes a cycling tour of the village, where we’ll witness the local daily life and have the privilege of visiting a carpenter’s workshop to marvel at their talents. Should you desire, you can bring a piece of their craftsmanship home as a cherished memento.

Our journey continues along scenic trails, traversing rice paddies and bamboo bridges lining the river, leading us to Tra Nhieu village—a genuine countryside experience at the heart of Vietnam. Here, you’ll encounter local artisans like Ms. Duoc, who weaves intricate mats, Mr. Kha, a skilled bamboo sampan basket maker, and Mr. Huynh Ri, a craftsman showcasing his expertise. Surrounding you along the way will be the enchanting landscapes of palm and rice fields, buffalo plowing the fields, and farmers diligently working the land.

From Tra Nhieu, we embark on a boat trip down the Thu Bon River, with the picturesque backdrop of fishing farms and water palm trees accompanying us. Our journey leads us to Cam Thanh village, where you’ll have the opportunity to board a charming round bamboo sampan basket boat. Enjoy a delightful session of crab catching in the water palm tree forest, providing a serene interlude after hours of cycling.

Following this, we’ll pause for a tranquil respite in the home of a local fisherman, Mr. Phong. Here, you can savor a soothing cup of green tea and experience a foot massage with medicinal herbs harvested from the family garden. Next, we’ll use freshly gathered vegetables and herbs from Tra Que village to participate in a small cooking session, preparing an array of signature dishes, including crispy pancakes with meat, shrimp, and beansprouts, Hoi An-style spring rolls, Tam Huu, and grilled fish in banana leaves. Finally, you’ll relish the dishes you’ve masterfully crafted.

In the afternoon, we return to your hotel, enriched with unforgettable memories of this immersive and cultural journey.
